Episode Sixty-Five: Robin Dunne
Robin Dunne is a popular actor, director, and screenwriter who’s got a lot of stories to tell. Sci-fi fans first fell in love with Robin on Sanctuary, where he played Dr. Will Zimmerman, a forensic psychiatrist who is recruited by Amanda Tapping’s Dr. Helen Magnus to work for the mysterious Sanctuary Network. Robin wrote and directed A.R.C.H.I.E. and its sequel, A.R.C.H.I.E. 2, which featured Michael J. Fox voicing a robot dog, and he directed, co-wrote, and co-starred in Welcome to Nowhere – the same movie where he and actress-photographer Farrah Aviva got married between takes. Recently, Robin’s been racking up acting credits in the rom-com sphere, and he reunited with one of Sanctuary’s showrunners, Damian Kindler, for October Faction, playing a hapless deputy named Woody Markham. In this wildly entertaining episode of the YVR Screen Scene Podcast, Robin talks about directing Michael J. Fox, getting married on the set of Welcome to Nowhere, and being The Edge to Amanda Tapping’s Bono.
