When Sabrina Furminger launched YVR Screen Scene on January 8, 2018, she did so with the goal of elevating and amplifying voices in the Vancouver film and television industry, and she’s never wavered from that goal. She knew there was an audience for her articles and eventual podcast featuring the shining stars of the Vancouver film and television industry – but she didn’t know just how popular and beloved the site would become. YVR Screen Scene has listeners and readers in more than 150 countries. Our content is hyperlocal, but our community is global.
YVR Screen Scene is free to enjoy, but it isn’t free to create. We rely on sponsors, monthly Patreon supporters, and annual donors to cover our production and editorial costs. We think it’s worth it: Sabrina is the only film and television industry journalist embedded in the Vancouver film and television industry. These are interviews you're only going to find on YVR Screen Scene. No one else is doing this work in this way.
Your support helps us continue this important work.
We invite non-profit organizations and businesses to join UBCP/ACTRA, DGC BC, Neverland Tea Salon, Liquid Amber Tattoo and Arts Collective, Telus Storyhive and Fish Flight Entertainment in sponsoring an episode (or more!) of the YVR Screen Scene Podcast. Email sabrina@yvrscreenscene.com for information on how we can tailor an ad plan to suit your specific needs.
We are grateful to the individuals who support our work via monthly donations of $1, $5, $8, and $10 via Patreon. Joining our YVR Screen Scene Podcast Patreon community entitles you to special perks, including early access to episodes and bonus audio content from your favourite Vancouver stars. There are also physical perks you can hold in your hands, like buttons and tote bags and surprise, sporadic mailings (because we love to send – and receive – mail!). Learn more here.
