Episode Forty: Keegan Connor Tracy
It’s impossible to talk about Keegan Connor Tracy and not mention magic. Magic has been interwoven into her acting roles from the beginning of her career, and its importance seems to only be growing. For seven seasons, she played the Blue Fairy – a literal maker of magic – on ABC’s beloved fantasy series Once Upon a Time, and she’s explored the nuances of magic in other roles, too, on The Magicians and also in The Descendants films, where she plays Queen Belle of Auradon. In recent years, Keegan has been pursuing magic in other realms. In 2018, she wrote her first children’s book – This Is A Job For Mommy! – and she also stepped behind the camera for the first time when she wrote and directed La Fille, a short film about a young girl who comes across a mysterious curio in the forest that transports her to 1920s France. In this magical episode of the YVR Screen Scene Podcast, Keegan joins Sabrina to talk about the Blue Fairy, fangirling Chris Hadfield, how #MeToo has changed the entertainment industry, and her Descendants co-star, the late, great Cameron Boyce.
