Episode Thirteen: Dennis Heaton
When The Order showrunner Dennis Heaton was a little boy, he was obsessed with monsters and storytelling – so a career in the film and television industry was pretty much a given. Dennis has worn many hats over the course of his career, including animation producer, producer, director, and screenwriter, and he’s spent hundreds of hours in television writers’ rooms on shows like Motive, Ghost Wars, and The Order, the last of which was a breakout, breakthrough hit on Netflix and has been renewed for a second season. In this informative and occasionally bonkers episode of the YVR Screen Scene Podcast – appropriately recorded on the auspicious nerd holiday May the Fourth – Dennis offers up his own origin story, and reflects on social media’s heated response to The Order’s controversial season one finale.
